Please join us for an in-depth look at one of fashion photography’s true masters.
Bourdin was known for his highly experimental photography. Predominantly working in color, he was a pivotal contributor to French Vogue from 1955 to the end of the 80s. Bourdin’s early work bridges the gap between Surrealism and Subjective Photography. Bourdin developed a technique using hyper-real colors, meticulous compositions of cropped elements such as low skies with high grounds, the interplay of light and shadows, and the unique make-up of the models.
Born in Tokyo in 1949, Masafumi Suzuki is a journalist and editor and author of "Suzuki-san's Life and Opinions" (Shinchosha), "Run! Yokoguruma" (Shogakukan Bunko), "◯✕ Marukusu" (Nigensha), etc.
From 2012 to 2021, he was the Editor-in-Chief for GQ JAPAN, from 2000 to 2011 the Editor-in-Chief of ENGINE, and from 1989-1999 the Editor-in-Chief of NAVI,
